The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that railroad crossing repairs will be performed on the Route 194 (Sullivan Avenue) railroad crossing located east of Route 5 (John Fitch Blvd) in South Windsor. The work includes the replacement of the railroad crossing riding surface.
The work will require Route 194 (Sullivan Ave) located east of Route 5 (John Fitch Blvd) in South Windsor to be closed for consecutive days beginning on Friday evening, October 16, 2020, to Monday, October 19, 2020, unless the work is completed sooner.
This work is being performed by Connecticut Southern Railroad Company in cooperation with the Department of Transportation.

Route 194 (Sullivan Ave) eastbound motorists will be detoured easterly along Rye Street, southerly onto Troy Road back to Route 194. Route 194 (Sullivan Avenue) westbound motorists will be detoured northerly onto Troy Road, westerly onto Rye Street back to Route 194.
Traffic control personnel, police and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity and through all work zones.
