The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a resurfacing project will be performed on SR 816 & Rt 6 Newtown.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing of SR 816 & RT 6 in Newtown. The milling portion of this project is scheduled to occur on Sunday June 14, 2020, and is scheduled to be completed on Tuesday June 16, 2020. The resurfacing portion of this project is scheduled to occur on Monday July 6, 2020 and is scheduled to be completed on Tuesday July 14, 2020.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2020 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect delays and one lane alternating Traffic. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. This project is scheduled for both daytime and Nighttime work- SR 816 is scheduled for daytime work on July 6 & 7, 2020- work hours for daytime work will be 7:00 am-4:00 pm, RT 6 is scheduled for Nighttime work starting July 8 & finishing on July 14, 2020 - work hours for nighttime work will be 7:00 pm to 5:00 am.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
