The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 97 and SR 644 (Murdoch Road) in Pomfret.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 4.45-mile segment of Route 97 and a 0.75-mile segment of SR 644 (Murdoch Road) in Pomfret. The milling segment for this project is scheduled for Monday, July 13, 2020, through Saturday, July 18, 2020. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Monday, August 17, 2020, through Wednesday, September 2, 2020.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2020 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 97 from the intersections of Route 169 to Route 44 and SR 644 (Murdoch Road) from Route 97 to Route 44 in Pomfret. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The project work schedule for the milling is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Saturday) and the resurfacing is from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Sunday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
