The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 66 in Windham.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 2.03-mile segment of Route 66 in Windham. The milling segment for this project is scheduled for the daytime hours on Monday, July 6, 2020, through Friday, July 10, 2020. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday evening, July 12, 2020, through Tuesday morning, July 21, 2020.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2020 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 66 from SR 661 (Thread City Crossing) to Tuckie Road in Windham. Two Willimantic police officers, one traffic controller, and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The milling work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday). The resurfacing work schedule for this project is from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (Sunday – Tuesday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
