Milling and Resurfacing Project on Route 136 in Darien and Norwalk

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 136 in Darien and Norwalk.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing 2.32 miles of Route 136 in Darien and Norwalk.  This project is scheduled to occur Sunday, August 23, 2020 through Tuesday, September 15, 2020.  The milling segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, August 23, 2020 through Monday, August 31, 2020.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 through Tuesday, September 15, 2020.

No work will occur from 5:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2020 through 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2020 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 136 from US 1 (Boston Post Road) to Highland Avenue #2.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday through Friday)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
