The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that guiderail upgrades will be performed on Route 72 Northbound and Southbound from 1.0 mile south of the Exit 1 Access Ramp to the Intersection of Forestville Avenue in the right shoulder in Plainville.
The project consists of upgrading guiderail over a 1.73-mile segment of Route 72 northbound and southbound. This work is anticipated to take place on Route 72 in Plainville on Monday July 13, 2020, to Monday, September 14, 2020.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s VIP Safety Improvements Projects.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect right lane closures on Route 72 northbound and southbound in Plainville from 1.0 miles south of the Exit 1 access ramp to Forestville Avenue. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns and State Police will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for upgrading the guiderail is 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
