The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work will commence on or about April 1, 2020, for the rehabilitation of Bridge 00302 carrying Interstate 395 over Route 14 and the Moosup River in Plainfield. To facilitate construction activities, the Interstate 395 Exit 32 southbound on-ramp will be closed beginning on Friday, April 3, 2020, at 7 AM. The closure will remain in place until approximately November 30, 2020.
Construction will involve lane shifts on Interstate 395 north and southbound to replace the existing bridge deck and parapet walls in stages, along with concrete repairs, steel repairs, bearing replacement, and painting of the superstructure.
DOT Project No. 0108-0186 was awarded to McNamee Construction Corp. at a cost of $11,225,145.32 on December 13, 2019, and is scheduled to be completed by November 30, 2021.
Motorists can expect intermittent temporary lane closures and temporary lane shifts in the area in the project area as the work progresses through November 30, 2021. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.

- Head West on East Main Street (Route 14)
- South on Norwich Road (Route 12)
- East on Academy Hill Road (Route 14A) to Exit 29 southbound
