The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of construction to rehabilitate Bridge 01602 carrying Route 454 over Indian Hole Brook in Shelton.
The project consists of:
- Upgrading the parapets for safety.
- Improving profile for roadway drainage
- Replacing existing superstructure with a new reinforced concrete slab
- The deck will be topped with membrane waterproofing and a bituminous concrete overlay
- The substructure will be patched and repaired as needed
DOT Project No. 126-172 was awarded to Dayton Construction Company, Inc. at a cost of $2,005,840.00 on October 13, 2019, and is scheduled to be completed November 17, 2020.
During the bridge construction the contractor will be allowed to maintain an alternating one-way traffic operation controlled by temporary signalization for no more than 200 days.
