Full Depth Reconstruction, Milling and Paving on South Main Street (Route 177), New Britain Avenue, Mill Road and Main Street (Route 4) in Unionville
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that as part of ongoing roadway construction, full depth road reconstruction followed by milling and paving operations are now beginning on South Main Street (Route 177), New Britain Avenue, Mill Road and Main Street (Route 4). All work is weather dependent.
The roadway construction will include full depth road reconstruction and including, removing (milling) the existing pavement surface, paving the sub-layers of pavement and final paving of the top course of pavement. The work locations include New Britain Avenue from Burnham Avenue to South Main Street (Route 177), 75 feet up Railroad Avenue from South Main Street (Route 177) and 130 feet on South Main Street (Route 177) from Depot Street to just south of the Farmington Canal Heritage Trial.
DETOUR / LANE CLOSURE INFO
The construction activities will utilize various lane closures and will occur during the daytime and/or nighttime as needed between the hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Sunday through Friday as needed for approximately one month.
Project No. 0051-0269 was awarded to Morais Concrete Service, Inc. of Springfield, Massachusetts on October 23, 2018, at a cost of $2,798,392.75 and is scheduled to be completed by April 1, 2020.
