Widening of U.S. Route 6 from Carol Drive to Peggy Lane in Bristol and Farmington
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction work will resume  for the widening of U.S. Route 6 from Carol Drive to Peggy Lane in Bristol and Farmington.
The project consists of widening of U.S Route 6 to improve safety and traffic operational improvements from Carol Drive in the City of Bristol to Peggy Lane in the Town of Farmington by adding a second eastbound through lane to address congestion, delays and safety concerns.  The proposed improvements would also consist of adjustments to the existing pavement cross-slope, drainage modifications / upgrades and modifications to the existing traffic signals to accommodate the proposed improvements. 
Construction work will from Carol Drive to Katern Street in Bristol while Stage 2 construction will commence East of Katern Street in Bristol to Peggy Lane in Farmington.
DOT Project No. 0017-0182 was awarded to Empire Paving at a cost of $12,870,631.23 on November 16, 2016, and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2018.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
U.S Route 6:
Monday through Friday between 9:00pm and 6:00am and Saturday and Sundays between 8:00pm and 7:00am 
All Other Roads:
Monday through Friday between 9:00am to 3:00pm and 6:00pm to 6:00am. 

When actively working, the contractor will be allowed to maintain an alternating one-way traffic operation controlled by uniformed flaggers.
