Stage 3B Detour for Project 96-197, Replacement of Bridge 03271 on Sugar Street (Route 302) in Newtown
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Stage 3B detour on Sugar Street (Route 302) in the Town of Newtown for Project 96-197 will start Thursday, May 17, 2018.
The project consists of the replacement of Bridge 03271 on Sugar Street (Route 302) in Newtown.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Commencing Thursday, May 17, 2018, traffic on Elm Drive in the vicinity of Rte. 302 (Sugar Street) will be restricted to one direction southbound. There will be no northbound direct access to Rte. 302. Detour signing will be in place to route northbound traffic onto Hawley Road to Route 25(South Main Street). Traffic on Elm Drive will be limited to local residents and southbound traffic only.
DOT Project No. 0096-0197 was awarded to Dayton Construction Co. at a cost of $1,923,757.35 on April 20, 2017, and is scheduled to be completed by October 29, 2018.
