Scheduled Road Closure for the Replacement of Bridge 02339, U.S. Route 44 over Bark Meadow Brook in  Pomfret
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Route 44 will be closed to facilitate the replacement of Bridge 02339, Route 44 over Bark Meadow Brook in Pomfret,  beginning on Monday, September 10, 2018.
The road closure will commence at 12:00 AM on Monday, September 10, 2018, and end no later than 11:59 PM on Wednesday September 19, 2018.  The detour route will be provide the necessary signage to guide vehicular traffic around the project site.
Project 111-122 consists of the replacement of Bridge 02339 with a 10’ x 8’ box culvert.  The entire structure, including the wingwalls and cut off/return walls will be precast.  The bridge replacement will begin with the relocation of existing Utilities and installation of cofferdam and water handling systems.  The project will include general roadway improvements, including upgrades to the adjacent metal beam rail systems.
DOT Project No. 0111-0122 was awarded to Arborio Corporation at a cost of $733,000.00 on April 12, 2018, and is scheduled to be completed September 28, 2018.
