Rumble Strips being added to Roads in Central Connecticut

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the installation of rumble strips on the 2017 and 2018 Vendor-in-Place expressways and non-expressway locations in District 1 (Central Connecticut) Sunday-Thursday, October 14-17, 2018. Work hours will be 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Truck mounted attenuators, signing patterns and State Police Officers will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.

Segments of the following routes are included in this project: I-84 and Route 72 in New Britain and Plainville, I-84 West Hartford and Farmington, Route 9 in New Britain, Route 17 in Glastonbury, SR410 in Middletown, SR543 in Wethersfield, 176 in Newington, and 140 in East Windsor.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
