Relocation of Edmond Road at Route 6 in Newtown
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction activity will begin on April 23, 2018, for the relocation of Edmond Road at Route 6 in Newtown. Work will include
a geosynthetic reinforced soil integrated bridge system to span approximately 60 feet of wetland.
The CT DOT Project 0096-0192 will relocate Edmond Road to become a shared intersection of Commerce Drive at Route 6.  Minor roadway reconstruction will result on a portion of the Route 6 Northbound shoulder.  The project will install new drainage and replace existing traffic signal equipment at Commerce Drive and the I-84 east bound ramp.
DOT Project No. 096-01926 was awarded to Arborio Construction Company of Cromwell, CT at a cost of $2,855,210.80 on March 27, 2018, and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2018.
