Rehabilitation of Yankee Doodle Bridge Carrying I-95 over the Norwalk River in Norwalk
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the rehabilitation of the Yankee Doodle Bridge carrying I-95 over the Norwalk River will begin on or about August 16, 2018.
The project consists of repairing existing steel, localized paint removal and field painting of existing repaired steel, substructure and deck concrete repairs, replacement of the bridge parapet including pedestrian protective fencing and median barrier, bridge drainage and storm water management improvements, and replacement of roadway lighting including the Norwalk River navigation lighting systems.
DOT Project No. 102-348 was awarded to Manafort Brothers, Inc. at a cost of $14,767,559 on
August 1, 2018, and is scheduled to be completed November 23, 2019.

  • Thursday 10 pm to Friday 6 am
  • Friday 10 pm to Saturday 8 am
  • Saturday 9 pm to Sunday 10 am
I-95 Southbound
  • Monday through Thursday between 6 pm to 6 am
  • Friday 10 pm to Saturday 9 am
  • Saturday 5 pm to Sunday 10 am
On adjacent streets and associated ramps Monday to Friday 9:00AM to 3:00PM daily, or 6:00PM to 6:00AM nightly.
