Pavement Preservation on Route 20 from Route 187 (Main Street) to the Exit for NB SSR 401 in East Granby
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a pavement preservation project will begin Sunday night, June 17, 2018, on Route 20 (Rainbow Road) between the intersection at Route 187 and the exit for NB SSR 401 in the Town of East Granby. All work associated with the project is weather dependent.
The pavement preservation will consist 1.95 miles of milling (both Eastbound and Westbound) 0-4 inches of old bituminous concrete pavement, repairing any cracks or potholes underlying the old bituminous surface, replacing deteriorated catch basin tops with new ones and placing new bituminous concrete pavement.
Project No. 0174-3488 was awarded to Tilcon Connecticut, Inc. of New Britain, Connecticut on March 28, 2018, at a cost of $1,790,167.28 and is scheduled to be completed in July 2018.
The construction will utilize a lane closure to begin on Sunday night, June 17, 2018, and will be in place from 6 PM to 6 AM Sunday through Thursday with Friday night as the rain date for approximately one month.
One lane will be maintained in each direction for Route 20 WB and Route 20 EB between the intersection at Route 187 and the exit for NB SSR 401.
