Nighttime Milling of Bituminous Concrete to add Rumble Strips along I-91 NB & SB in Rocky Hill and Wethersfield

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the installation of rumble strips on I-91 northbound and southbound in Rocky Hill and Wethersfield, beginning Wednesday, October 10, 2018.

The project consists of milling of bituminous concrete to add rumble strips on a 7.67 mile segment of I-91 NB & SB in Rocky Hill and Wethersfield. This work will occur from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2018 to the morning of Thursday, October 11, 2018.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on I-91 NB from .09 miles south of the SSR 411 (West Street) overpass to.04 miles north of the Elm Street underpass and I-91 SB from .52 miles south of Route 3 northbound overpass to .20 miles south of the SSR 411 (West Street overpass). Truck mounted attenuators, signing patterns and State Police Officers will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
