Nighttime Milling and Resurfacing On Route 44 in Putnam

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 44 in Putnam, beginning Sunday, June 24, 2018.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.45 mile segment of Route 44 in Putnam.  The milling segment for this project is scheduled for Sunday evening, June 24, 2018, through Thursday morning,

June 28, 2018.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Thursday evening, June 28, 2018, through Friday morning, July 6, 2018.  No work will be performed from Tuesday evening, July 3, 2018, to Thursday morning, July 5, 2018, due to the July 4th holiday.

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 44 from the Quinebaug River to Pearl Street in Putnam. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The nighttime work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday p.m. – Friday a.m.)

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
