Nighttime Milling and Resurfacing on I-395 southbound in Killingly and Plainfield

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on I-395 southbound in Killingly and Plainfield.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 5.25 mile segment of I-395 southbound in Killingly and Plainfield.  A portion of the milling segment for this project is scheduled to begin on Sunday evening,

May 6th, 2018, through Friday morning, May 11th, 2018, and will restart again in June 2018 for the completion of the remaining roadway milling and paving. 

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2018 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect lane closures on I-395 southbound from Whetstone Brook in Killingly to the Plainfield Rest Area. Temporary ramp closures will also occur at Exit 37B (old Exit 91W), Exit 37A

(old Exit 91E), and the on ramp from Route 6 east to I-395 southbound. Two (2) state troopers, crash attenuator vehicles, and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The work schedule for this nighttime project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday evenings).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
