Nighttime Bridge Maintenance on Route 8 in Bridgeport and Trumbull

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on Route 8 northbound in Bridgeport and Trumbull, beginning Wednesday, September 26, 2018.

The project consists of bridge maintenance on Route 8 Bridge #03773 (River Rd. overpass) in Bridgeport and Bridge #03776 (Rt. 127 underpass) in Trumbull. This project is scheduled to occur from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 to the morning of Friday, October 26, 2018. 

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2018 bridge maintenance program to support state forces with bridge repairs and is being performed by Dynamic Surface Application.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 8 NB from .01 mile north of the northbound end overpass Capital Ave to .03 mile south of northbound begin overpass SR 711 (Huntington Turnpike) in Bridgeport and Trumbull.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Monday through Thursday evenings).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
