Nighttime Bridge Maintenance on Route 291 in Windsor

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that nighttime bridge work will be performed on Route 291 westbound in Windsor, overnight Thursday, January 18, to the morning of Friday, January 19, 2018. This bridge, No. 6225, goes over I-91. Route 291 traffic will be detoured.

The work will begin at 9 p.m. Thursday.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorist can expect detour will implemented while work is being performed.  Take exit 1 to I-91 SB to exit 34, followed by a left turn then a right onto Meadow Road and proceed to the I-91 NB ramp. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. Due to the nature of repair the work schedule for this project is to begin at 9:00 p.m. until completion.  Various lanes may be closed during the progression of the project.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
