Nighttime Bridge Maintenance on I-84 Eastbound in East Hartford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on I-84 EB in East Hartford, overnight Sunday and Monday, November 18-19, 2018.

This is Bridge No. 5844D (Exit 58 Off-Ramp for Roberts Street) in East Hartford. This work is scheduled to occur from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Sunday, November 18, 2018 to the morning of Monday, November 19, 2018.

This work is being performed by Hammonasset Construction.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorist can expect the I-84 EB ramp to Roberts Street to be closed to traffic and a detour will be utilized. The detour will be implemented using fixed message signs to pre-warn motorists of the impending ramp closure and detour. The work hours scheduled for this project is from 9:00 p.m.to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday thru Monday)

The detour will direct motorists to continue on I-84 EB and take I-384 EB to Exit 1 (Spencer Street/Silver Lane). At end of ramp take a right onto Silver Lane and continue to Roberts Street.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
