Nighttime Bridge Maintenance along I-91 in Wethersfield

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on I-91 southbound in Wethersfield, beginning Sunday, July 29, 2018. Work hours will be 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The work will be performed on the Elm Street overpass (Bridge #1456).

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorist can expect the Route 3 WB ramp to I-91 SB to be closed to traffic and a detour will be utilized. The detour will be implemented using fixed message signs to pre-warn motorists of the impending ramp closure and detour. The work hours scheduled for this project is from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday Evening to Monday Morning).

The detour will direct motorists to continue on Route 3 westbound. At the intersection of Route 99, take a left, and continue straight to the on ramp of I-91 Southbound.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
