Milling and Resurfacing on Route 156 in East Lyme

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 156 in East Lyme, beginning Friday, September 14, 2018.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.63 mile segment of Route 156 in East Lyme.  The first segment for the roadway milling project is scheduled for the daytime hours on Friday, September 14, 2018.  The second segment for the roadway milling is scheduled for Sunday evening, September 16, 2018, to Thursday morning, September 20, 2018.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed during the daytime hours only, from Monday, October 1, 2018, through Friday, October 12, 2018.  Work will be performed on Monday, October 8, 2018, the Columbus Day holiday.

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 156 from the Rocky Neck Connector (State Service Route 449) to the Niantic River Bridge in East Lyme.  Three (3) East Lyme policemen and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The daytime work schedule is from 7:00 a.m. to

5:00 p.m. and the nighttime work schedule is from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
