Intermittent Nightly Closures of I-84 Westbound On-Ramp, Exit 48, at Capitol Avenue and Asylum Street from February 19, 2018 to April 16, 2018
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the intermittent nightly closure and detour, from February 19, 2018, to April 16, 2018, at I-84 westbound on-ramp, Exit 48, at Capitol Avenue and Asylum Street in the City of Hartford.
The intermittent closures are necessary as part of the rehabilitation of Bridges 03160 A-D, 03301, 03303, 01765 and 01766 on I-84 in Harford. A ramp may be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. to allow for various construction operations associated with the $39 million bridge rehabilitation project being constructed by The Middlesex Corporation.
Ramp Closure and Detour Information:
The I-84 westbound on-ramp from Capitol Avenue at Exit 48 may be closed nightly from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. starting Monday February 19, 2018, and extending to Monday April 16, 2018. Motorists wishing to enter I-84 westbound from Capitol Avenue at Exit 48 will be detoured east on Capitol Avenue to Main Street. At Main Street, traffic will be directed north to a left on to Morgan Street to the I-84 westbound entrance ramp.
The I-84 westbound on-ramp from Asylum Street at Exit 48 may be closed nightly from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. starting Monday February 19, 2018, and extending to Monday April 16, 2018. Motorists wanting to enter I-84 westbound from Asylum Street at Exit 48 will be detoured east on Asylum Street to High Street. At High Street, traffic will be directed east on Church Street to a north turn on Ann Street. At Chapel Street, traffic will be directed west to the I-84 westbound on-ramp.
