I-84 Waterbury Construction Update - New Eastbound 23 On-Ramp to Open Monday Night, August 13, and  Eastbound 25 Off-Ramp Entrance to be Relocated
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the new eastbound 23 on-ramp, east of Hamilton Avenue Bridge, will open beginning on Monday night, August 13. The temporary loop ramp, west of the bridge will close permanently. Eastbound Exit 23 off-ramp, from I-84 and downtown Waterbury to Hamilton Avenue, will remain open as a one-way off-ramp.
Hamilton Avenue Bridge will open to its new full width, and temporarily striped to provide one thru-travel lane in each direction and a left-turn lane from southbound Hamilton Avenue to the new eastbound 23 on-ramp. 
Access to the eastbound Exit 25 off-ramp will open in its permanent location, west of Hamilton Avenue Bridge. The eastbound Exit 25 detour route, that has been in effect utilizing eastbound Exit 23, will close permanently.
