Construction Activities to Begin on Route 15 Northbound and Southbound Between Exits 40 & 41 in Norwalk
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of Project 102-356 in the City of Norwalk beginning Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Project 102-356 consists of the rehabilitation of the West Rocks Road Bridge over the Merritt Parkway.  Work includes demolition and replacement of the existing bridge superstructure.
Lanes will be closed on the Merritt Parkway southbound and northbound between interchanges 40 and 41 in order to restripe for stage construction.  The contractor is permitted to close one lane of the parkway from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Route 15 northbound and from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Route 15 southbound.  The allowable lane closure hours varies depending on the weeknight traffic volumes.
DOT Project no. 0102-0356 was awarded to New England Road, Incorporated at a cost of $4,117,827.00 on 12/29/2017 and was scheduled to be completed by 05/13/2019.  
LANE CLOSURE INFO
The majority of Merritt Parkway work will be performed during weeknight closures from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Route 15 northbound and from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Route 15 southbound.
Work on West Rocks Road may be performed during the day from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and at night from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. A full detour will be implemented from May 29, 2018, to August 27, 2018, for the full replacement of the bridge. More information will be provided in the near future prior to any local road detour being implemented.
