Weekend Closure of Route 202 in Bantam for Constructions Activities Associated with the Replacement of Bridge 02232 - Route 202 over Unnamed Brook
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the weekend closure of Route 202 in Bantam, to facilitate ongoing construction activities related to the replacement of Bridge Number 02232 which carries Route 202 over an Unnamed Brook. The closure will begin on Friday, July 7, at 6:00 PM, and the roadway will reopen on Monday, July 10, at 6:00 AM.
LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION
Route 202: ROAD AND BRIDGE CLOSED FRIDAY JJULY 7, 2017 AT 6:00 P.M. TO MONDAY JULY 10, 2017 AT 6:00 A.M.  Detour Route: Route 202 East: Follow Route 209, south to Route 109, east to Route 61, north to Route 63, north.   Route 202 West: Follow Route 63, south to Route 61, south to Route 109, west to Route Route 209 North.
The project consists of the removal of the existing culvert and installation of a new box culvert under Route 202 and replacement of the existing headwall and wingwalls. The project also involves roadway reconstruction including excavation and paving in the area of the culvert, installation of metal beam rail and bridge rail and installation of a new section of water main below the box culvert. 

DOT Project No. 0073-0186 was awarded to Dayton Construction Co., Inc. of Watertown, CT, at a cost of $698,095.50 on November 4, 2016 and is scheduled to be completed in July 2017.
