Traffic Shift Scheduled on Route 35 in Ridgefield for the Ongoing Replacement of Bridge Number 02277 - Route 35 over Ridgefield Brook
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a traffic shift for stage construction will occur on Route 35 (Danbury Rd.) between the Recreation Center Drive and the southerly Fox Hill Condominium entrance in Ridgefield on or about August 9, 2017, weather permitting.
The project consists of constructing a temporary roadway and bridge to maintain traffic in both directions. Bridge 02277 will be replaced by removing the existing superstructure and a portion of the abutments and constructing a new span consisting of pile caps and a precast concrete deck. There will also be the installation of storm water collection and drainage systems.
DOT Project No. 0117-0149 was awarded to Baier Construction Company, Inc. at a cost of
$2,542,550.40 on July 17, 2015. Traffic is scheduled to be in final configuration in November/December of 2017, and the project is scheduled to be completed April of 2018.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
A new traffic pattern for stage construction is scheduled to begin on or about August 9, 2017. Route 35 southbound traffic will be shifted onto the previously used Route 35 southbound lane. Route 35 northbound traffic will continue to run over the temporary road and temporary bridge. Alternating traffic will be necessary to complete this work.
Periodic alternating one way traffic will be in place between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
