Intersection Improvements on Route 1 at Route 53 and Route 1 at Stuart Avenue in Norwalk
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that improvements to the intersection of Route 1 at Route 53 and Route 1 at Stuart Ave in the City of Norwalk will begin on or about March 20, 2017.
DOT Project No. 102 – 325/346 was awarded to Waters Construction Company of Bridgeport, CT on November 30, 2016 for $286,583.60 with an official start date of April 1, 2017 and an anticipated completion date of August 29, 2018.
Route 1 and Stuart Ave
Construction activities associated with the improvements to the intersection of Routes 1 at Stuart Ave will require implementation of daytime lane restrictions through the area. A minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction within the work zone. This project is scheduled to begin on April 1, 2017 and run through August of 2018.

Route 1 and Route 53
Construction activities associated with the improvements to the intersection of Routes 1 at Route 53 will require implementation of night time lane restrictions through the area. A minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction within the work zone. This project is scheduled to begin on April 1, 2017 and run through August of 2018.

LANE CLOSURE INFO
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday thru Friday) for Route 1 at Stuart Ave and from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. (Monday thru Friday) for Route 1 at Route 53.
Segments of the following routes will be impacted by this project: Route 1 at Stuart Ave and Route 1 at Route 53 in the City of Norwalk. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions of these schedules may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
Intermittent right lane closures on I – 95 Southbound between interchanges 15 and 14 may be required beginning the week of March 20, 2017 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to facilitate construction.
