Installation and Revisions of Traffic Control Signals - Various Locations
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a project to install and revise traffic signals is scheduled to start Monday, April 3, 2017.
The project consists of upgrades to traffic control signals at 12 locations in the towns/cities of Clinton, Groton, Killingly, Mansfield, Middletown, North Stonington, Norwich and Old Saybrook. Construction is scheduled to commence on April 3, 2017.  The following intersections are included:
Project No. 172-423:
  • Clinton – Route 1 at North High Street and Grove Street (Intersection No. 27-201)
  • Groton – Route 184 at Kings Highway #2 (Intersection No. 58-220)
  • Groton – Route 349 at Meridian Street Extension (Intersection No. 58-225)
  • Groton – Route 1 at Allyn Street and West Mystic Avenue (Intersection No. 58-249)
  • Groton – Route 1 at Maxson Road and Lighthouse Square Driveway (Intersection No. 58-251)
  • Killingly – Route 101 at Williamsville Road (Intersection No. 68-214)
  • Mansfield – Route 195 at UConn Pedestrian Crossing (Whitney Hall) (Intersection No. 77-218)
  • Middletown – Route 154 and Aircraft Road at Route 9 On/Off Ramps and Saybrook Road (Intersection No. 82-201)
  • North Stonington – Route 49 at I-95 Southbound Off Ramp (Exit 92) (Intersection No. 101-206)
  • Norwich – State Route 642 (Town Street) at Norwichtown Commons (Intersection No. 103-242)
Project No. 172-424:
  • Norwich – Route 2&32 at State Route 642 (Town Street) and Route 169 (Intersection No. 103-216)
  • Old Saybrook – Route 1 at Elm Street (Intersection No. 105-206)
DOT Project No. 172-423/424 was awarded to The NYCONN Corporation of Danbury, Connecticut at a cost of $2,131,669.65 on July 29, 2016, and is scheduled to be completed in September 2017.
LANE CLOSURE INFO - Traffic may experience delays on project roadways from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am Monday through Friday; and on weekends from 6:00 pm to 10:00 am.
