Weekend Closure of Route 2 Eastbound Exit 2 Connector from the Founders Bridge to I-84 Eastbound in East Hartford Scheduled for June 4, 2016

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the weekend closure of the Route 2 eastbound Exit 2 connector to I-84 eastbound from the Founder’s Bridge in East Hartford beginning at 4:00 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2016 to 5:00 PM, Sunday, June 5, 2016.  The closure also includes the access ramp from Pitkin Street.

The closure is necessary as part of the reconstruction of Bridge No. 02374.  The work is part of the $22 million bridge rehabilitation project being constructed by The Brunalli Construction Company. 

Detour Information:  
Route 2 motorists will remain on Route 2 east to Exit 5, proceed left onto Willow Street, under Route 2, then left onto Route 2 West, to Exit 2E to I-84 Eastbound.

Pitkin Street motorists will be directed East on Pitkin to Jayce Street, then straight onto Route 2 East, to Exit 5, left onto Willow Street, under Route 2, then left onto Route 2 West, to Exit 2E to I-84 Eastbound.
