Traffic Shift on US Route 1 and Route 122 in West Haven

     

   The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the intersection improvements being performed on US Route 1 and Route 122 within the City of West Haven will be entering Stage 2 of construction.  Traffic will be shifted from the existing pattern to the newly aligned and constructed intersection of US Route 1 and Route 122 on June 28, 2016.

   The project consists of the intersection improvements to the intersection of US Route 1 and Route 122 in West Haven. The project has completed the Stage 1 requirements and the Contractor is preparing to shift existing traffic lanes to the newly constructed areas for Stage 2 on June 28, 2016. This traffic shift is being performed during the daytime and will utilize Town Police officers to ensure minimal impact to the travelling public. Once traffic has been shifted, the Contractor will resume installation of the upgraded drainage system, ADA compliant ramps and sidewalks, traffic signal equipment, etc.

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

   Impact to traffic traveling on US Route 1 and Route 122 will be kept to a minimum.  Lane closures may be observed at various times, prevalently throughout the week.  Lane Closures throughout the project are allowed at any point over the weekends provided there are no observed state holidays.
