Substructure Rehabilitation of I-95 Bridge 0032 over Metro North Railroad in Stamford
- Long-term Closure of South Street from Lafayette to North State Street to Facilitate Construction Activities -
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing a long term closure of South State Street from Lafayette to North State Street to facilitate the replacement of pier cap number 3 of the I-95 overpass beginning on September 26, 2016.
This portion of the project consists of removing and replacing the existing pier cap and temporarily supporting I-95 with a temporary structure. The contractor will be given a six month window to complete this work.  Concrete repairs will also be done concurrently on the existing piers utilizing the temporary detour of South State Street.
This project was awarded to Blakeslee Arpaia Chapman, Inc of Branford, CT on April 28, 2014 at a cost of $4,067,174.80 and is scheduled to be completed by Spring 2017. The project is being administered by the Department of Transportation, Office of Construction, District 3 in New Haven.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
South State Street will be closed from Lafayette Street to North State Street.  South State Street Eastbound traffic will be detoured to Lafayette Street.  This closure will occur on or around September 26, 2016.
