The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work is scheduled to begin on or about March 21, 2016 on Bridge 00982 - Route 74 over the Willimantic River in Tolland and Willington.

The project consists of the installation of a temporary bridge, removal of the existing bridge substructure and superstructure, construction of new abutments, back walls and superstructure.  Also elevation adjustments to the existing roadway will be done to match the new bridge approaches.

DOT Project No. 0160-0139 was awarded to Brunalli Construction, Co. out of Southington, CT at a cost of $5,545,571.00 on March 11, 2016 and is scheduled to be complete in July 2017.

LANE CLOSURE INFO
A temporary bridge will be installed to maintain traffic during the removal of the existing structure and the construction of the new bridge.

Lane closures on Route 74 will take place on an as needed basis Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm.

Certified flaggers and State Police will direct traffic during such closures.
