The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the project to replace Bridge 01018, Route 53 over Saugatuck River in Redding, will begin the week of March 21, 2016.

The project consists of the replacement of the abutments, deck and parapets along with minor safety improvements.

DOT Project No. 0116-0133 was awarded to McNamee Construction Corp., Inc. at a cost of $2,774,000.00 on February 3, 2016 and is scheduled to be completed in September of 2016.

LANE CLOSURE INFO
There will be alternating one-way traffic on Route 53 between 9am and 3pm Monday through Friday. 

A detour will be implemented after July 1 for a duration of 42 days via Route 58 and 107. A  press release will be issued in the future with specific dates.
