Rehabilitation of Bridge Society Road Bridge over I-95 in East Lyme
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the installation of a portion of new structural steel will take place on March 21, 2016 through March 23, 2016 as part of the rehabilitation project of Bridge Number 00249, Society Road over I-95 in the East Lyme.
The rehabilitation project consists of the construction of a new Society Road Bridge over I-95, removal of the existing Society Road Bridge over I-95, new drainage structures, new guide rail, and paving operations.
DOT Project No. 0044-0152 was awarded to New England Road, Inc. at a cost of $5,275,452.50 on July 31, 2014 and is scheduled to be completed August 28, 2016.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
I-95 Northbound near Exit 73 will be reduced nightly to one lane March 21, 2016 through March 23, 2016 between 7 pm and 6 am.
Intermittent stops will occur on I-95 Northbound near Exit 73, Tuesday March 22, 2016, 12 am to 5 am and Wednesday March 23,  12 am to 5 am while the structural steel is set in place.
Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
