Rehabilitation of Bridge No. 02135, Route 15 over Converse Pond Brook in Greenwich
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the rehabilitation of Bridge No. 02135 (Route 15 over Converse Pond Brook in Greenwich) will begin the week of April 11, 2016.
The bridge is located on the Merritt Parkway in Greenwich, approximately 350 feet north of Exit 28.  It  is a single-span concrete slab bridge built in 1934 and has been determined to be structurally deficient due to the poor condition of the western headwall and wingwalls. The proposed rehabilitation is to reconstruct both headwalls and all four wingwalls of the existing bridge. Deteriorated concrete surfaces on the superstructure and substructure will also be repaired.
DOT Project No. 56-306 was awarded to McNamee Construction Corp. on February 25, 2016 at a cost of $2,243,177.75 and is scheduled to be completed in September 2017.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
There is no anticipated highway closure. The work zone will be isolated from the roadway with temporary concrete Jersey barrier at both the north bound and south bound shoulders of Route 15. Sign patterns will be utilized to guide the motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Monday thru Friday).  Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
