Public Informational Meeting Regarding Safety Improvements at the Intersection of Routes 10/202 at East Street & Notch Road in Granby
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a public informational meeting concerning a proposed safety improvement project at the Intersection of Routes 10/202 (Salmon Brook Street) at East Street and Notch Road on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at the Granby Senior Center, 15 North Granby Road, Granby, Connecticut.
The project is identified as State Project No. 55-TMP2.
The purpose of this proposed project is to address existing safety concerns at the intersection through the construction of a roundabout.  The proposed roundabout will eliminate the existing crash patterns at this location and will reduce vehicular speeds on Salmon Brook Street.  The improvements will also address operational needs of larger vehicles at the intersection of Notch Road at Quarry Road.

Right-of-way impacts associated with these improvements are anticipated to include three (3) partial property acquisitions.
The public informational meeting is being held to afford a full opportunity for public participation and to allow open discussion of any views and comments the community may have concerning this proposed project.
The meeting facility is ADA accessible.  Language assistance may be requested by contacting the Department’s Office of Communications (voice only) at (860) 594-3062 at least five (5) working days prior to the meeting.  Language assistance is provided at no cost to the public, and efforts will be made to respond to requests for assistance.
Plans of the proposed project will be on display for public review.  Department personnel will be available during the meeting to discuss this project.  More detailed information is available at the Department’s Office of Engineering, 2800 Berlin Turnpike, Newington, Connecticut, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays.  Anyone wishing to discuss the project may contact Hugh H. Hayward at (860) 594-3219 or by e-mail at Hugh.Hayward@ct.gov.  Plans are also available for review at the Granby Town Hall, Office of Community Development.
