The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the milling and resurfacing project of Route 5 over Route 190 between Frew Terrace and Grant Street in the town of Enfield is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, April 18, 2016, weather permitting.

The work consists of milling and resurfacing the bituminous overlay (asphalt driving surface) of approximately 1200 feet on Route 5 between Frew Terrace and Grant Street. The milling operation will take place at night. The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of April 2016.

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 5 between Frew Terrace and Grant Street between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday and between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday. Night time operations will be between the hours of 6:00 pm and 6:00 am, Monday through Friday.

Motorists should also be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
