Milling and Resurfacing along Route 70 in Cheshire

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will continue on Route 70 in Cheshire through April 22, 2016.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.93 mile segment of Route 70 in Cheshire. The milling segment of this project is scheduled to begin on Route 70 at Route 10 (Highland Avenue) on Monday, April 4, 2016.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Route 70 at Route 10 (Highland Avenue) on Monday, April 18, 2016 to Friday, April 22, 2016.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 70 from Route 10 (Highland Avenue) to Cortland Circle. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for the milling and resurfacing is 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday).  On the first day of milling and paving work will begin at 5:00 a.m. to get through the Route 10 intersection.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
