Intersection Improvements, Route 69 at Maple Avenue and Peacedale Street in the Town of Bristol
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Intersection Improvements at Route 69 at Maple Avenue and Peacedale Street in  Bristol will begin on or about Monday, November 21, 2016.
The project consists of improving the safety and capacity at the intersection of Route 69, Maple Avenue and Peacedale Street.  The project would involve adding left-turn lanes at each leg of the intersection. The east side of Route 69 would be widened to accommodate the additional turning lanes.  Reconstruction of approximately 1,050 feet of Maple Avenue and Peacedale Street is also included to accommodate the additional turning lanes, as well as vertical alignment adjustments to improve sight distances.

DOT Project No. 0017-0183 was awarded to Richards Corporation at a cost of $ 1,519,537.00 on October 6, 2016 and is scheduled to be completed by November 30, 2017.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone as needed. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM,  Monday through Friday.  Night time operations, if any, would be between the hours of 6:00 PM  to 6:00 AM, and Saturday and Sunday working hours if any would be between the hours of 6:00 PM  to 10:00 AM.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
