The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a tree removal operation will be performed along I-95 southbound in Groton and Stonington, October 29 – November 20, 2015.

The tree removal operation will be performed by Northeastern Clearing Inc.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

While work is being performed, the slow-speed right lane and shoulder of I-95 will be closed between SB Exit 89 to SR 614 (Cow Hill Road/Allyn Street) in Groton & the SB access from Rt. 2 in Stonington.  No work will be performed on Saturday or Sunday. The tree clearing will necessitate the closing of the slow-speed right lane and shoulder.  State forces, lane closure patterns, and crash attenuator vehicles will be used to guide the traveling public through the work zone and protect the workers. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday-Friday).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
