Reconstruction of Interchange 18 Northbound On-Ramp on Route 8 in the Towns of Derby and Ansonia
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work will be starting for the reconstruction of the Interchange 18 Northbound On-Ramp on Route 8 in the Towns of Derby and Ansonia.
The
project consists of the construction of a new Route 8 northbound on-ramp
including the installation of a retaining wall, a noise barrier wall, safety
improvements as well as drainage improvements being made on both Division
Street and Westfield Avenue.
DOT
Project No. 0036-0179 was awarded to Empire Paving, Inc., at a cost of $8,692,190.35
on 12/23/14 and is scheduled to be completed in September 2016.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
- Route 8 NB between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, and between the hours of 6:00 p.m. on Friday through 6:00 a.m. on Monday.
- On Division Street and Westfield Avenue, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, and between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
From April to November 2015, existing travel lanes on Route 8 NB, in the vicinity of Interchange 18, will be shifted and reduced to 11-foot widths, to accommodate the construction of the new on-ramp.
Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
