The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a detour will be in effect for the closure of Fairfield Avenue from Commerce Drive to Railroad Avenue eastbound in Bridgeport. The closures will occur Friday nights at 9:00 p.m. through Saturday mornings at 6:00 a.m. for the period from June 19, 2015 to December 31, 2015.

DOT Project no. 15-296/0301-070 was awarded to Ducci Electrical Contractors of Torrington, CT at a cost of $79,234,692.60  and is scheduled to be completed December 31, 2015. The project involves the overhaul of the Catenary wire system, and the replacement of five bridges on the New Haven Rail Line to achieve required overhead bridge clearances.
