MOTORIST ADVISORY - Expect Weekend Traffic Impacts Friday, May 29 through Sunday, May 31, 2015 as the I-95 Northbound off-ramp to I-91 Northbound (Exit 48) is Shifted into a New Alignment

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that activities related to roadway construction are expected to cause delays throughout the I-95 New Haven Corridor during the weekend of Friday, May 29 through Sunday, May 31, 2015.

      Weather permitting, the I-95 Northbound off-ramp to I-91 Northbound will be closed and detoured Saturday, May 30, 2015 between the hours of 12 AM and 6 AM. The Route 34 Eastbound off-ramp to I-91 Northbound will be closed and detoured between 6 AM Saturday, May 30 and 8 PM Sunday, May 31, 2015. Beginning Saturday, May 30, 2015, motorists should expect a new alignment of the I-95 Northbound off-ramp to I-91 Northbound. These construction activities are necessary to facilitate roadway construction as work progresses on the Pearl Harbor Memorial (Q) Bridge, Reconstruction of the I-95 / I-91 / Route 34 Interchange and other projects that are part of the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing (NHHC) Corridor Improvement Program.

Double left lane closure on Route 34 Eastbound from the College Street on-ramp to the ramp to I-91 Northbound

11 PM Friday, May 29 – 12 AM Saturday, May 30, 2015

Double left lane closure on I-95 Northbound from the off-ramp to Kimberly Avenue (Exit 44) to the I-91 Northbound off-ramp (Exit 48). Two lanes on I-95 Northbound will remain open.

Single right lane closure on the I-95 Northbound off-ramp to I-91 Northbound

Double right lane closure on I-91 Northbound from the I-95 Northbound on-ramp to the off-ramp to Trumbull Street (Exit 3)

12 AM – 6 AM Saturday, May 30, 2015

Triple left lane closure on I-95 Northbound from the off-ramp to Kimberly Avenue (Exit 44) to the I-91 Northbound off-ramp (Exit 48). One lane on I-95 Northbound will remain open.

Single left lane closure on I-95 Northbound from the off-ramp to I-91 Northbound (Exit 48) to the merge with traffic from Route 34 Eastbound

6 AM Saturday, May 30, 2015 – 8 PM Sunday, May 31, 2015

Left lane closure on I-95 Northbound from the off-ramp to Kimberly Avenue (Exit 44) to the I-91 Northbound off-ramp (Exit 48).

Left lane closure on the I-95 Northbound off-ramp to I-91 Northbound continuing on I-91 Northbound (Exit 48) to the Hamilton Street on-ramp

CONTINGENCY DATE-

In the event of inclement weather, the weekend work will be rescheduled to the weekend of Friday, June 5 through Sunday, June 7, 2015.
