Installation of Epoxy Resin Pavement Markings on Various Routes in Eastern CT

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the installation of epoxy resin pavement markings on Various Routes in eastern Connecticut begins August 17, 2015.

The project consists of the complete replacement of all existing pavement markings on several secondary routes throughout the state.  The project is one of several projects awarded to multiple contractors for the replacement of pavement markings throughout the state on both interstate and secondary roadways.  Many of the edge/shoulder lines and skip lines being replaced will be recessed into a machined groove to increase visibility during all weather conditions and to extend the service life of the markings.

This project covers the following areas:

·         Route 2 North Stonington to Stonington

·         Route 2A Preston

·         Route 6 Windham to Killingly

·         Route 44 Mansfield to Putnam

·         Route 169 Norwich to Woodstock

·         I-95 Clinton to Old Saybrook

DOT Project No. 0172-0433 was awarded to Safety Marking, Inc. of Bridgeport, Connecticut at a cost of $1,146,566.00 on July 17, 2015 and is scheduled to be completed in November 2015. This project is administered by Office of Construction – District 2, Norwich.
