- I-84 WATERBURY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE -
Interstate 84 Westbound Exit 24 in Waterbury to Permanently Close
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction activities related to the reconstruction of I-84 in Waterbury will require the permanent closure of the Westbound Exit 24 off-ramp to Harpers Ferry Road.  The ramp is scheduled to be permanently closed at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015.
The project consists of the reconstruction of Interstate 84 to provide a third lane in each direction between Washington Street (west of Interchange 23) and Pierpont Road (west of Interchange 25A) in Waterbury. For more information, please visit www.i-84waterbury.com

DOT Project No. 0151-0273 was awarded to I-84 Constructors J.V., a joint venture, between Empire Paving of North Haven, CT and Yonkers Contracting from New York on December 23, 2014 at a cost of $260,554,618.00.   

The project is scheduled for completion in April of 2020.

RAMP DETOUR INFO

Use I-84 Westbound Exit 25 Scott Road, left onto Scott Road, right onto Reidville Drive to Harpers Ferry Road.

Future direct access to Harpers Ferry Road from I-84 westbound will be provided via the extension of Plank Road East between Scott Road and Harpers Ferry Road. This will be completed in 2019.
