Culvert Replacement on Central New England Railroad over Filley Brook in Bloomfield

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the replacement of a culvert under the Central New England Railroad in Bloomfield beginning Thursday October 15, 2015.

      The project consists of the temporary removal of the railroad tracks, removal of the existing culvert, remediation of contaminated soil, culvert replacement and the milling and paving of Crestview Drive Extension.

      DOT Project No. 0170-3353 was awarded to V.M.S. Construction of Vernon, CT at a cost of $562,000.00 on March 30, 2015 and is scheduled to be completed by November 6, 2015. This project is administered by the Office of Construction – District 1, Rocky Hill.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Crestview Drive Extension will be closed to through traffic from 5:00 p.m. on Thursday October 15, 2015 through 12:00 p.m. on Monday October 19, 2015.  Signs will be posted alerting the traveling public to use an alternate route. Crestview Drive Extension will still be open for local business access.
