Alternating One-Way Traffic for Paving of Bridge No. 00330, U.S. Route 1 Over Wepawaug River in the Town of Milford Starting December 4, 2015

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a paving operation with alternating one-way traffic will commence on or about Friday, December 4, 2015 at Bridge No. 00330 on U.S. Route 1 in the Town of Milford.

The project consists of full replacement of the existing bridge structure including minor drainage improvements. The purpose of the project is to replace the existing 84-year old bridge that is considered structurally deficient.

DOT Project No. 0083-0258 was awarded to Empire Paving, Inc. of North Haven, CT on February 25, 2015 at a cost of $4,366,950.00 and is scheduled to be completed by December 1, 2016.

LANE CLOSURE INFO -

Route 1 – Beginning Friday, December 4, 2015, traffic will be reduced to alternating one-way traffic between West River Street and U.S. Rte. 121.

Pavement operations are weather dependent and will only be active during the daytime hours. Electronic message boards will be posted 48 hours prior to alert local traffic of the event. Motorists in the area are encouraged to find an alternate route.
